About Setpoint Insurance Services

Setpoint Insurance Services is the DBA of VILA Group LLC, a California limited liability company (CA Secretary of State File No. B20260252482). It is run by Mathis Grosjean, founder and licensed insurance broker — California Department of Insurance License #4552551.

What "independent specialty brokerage" means

We are a brokerage, not an insurance company: we represent the buyer, not a carrier. "Independent" means we are not tied to any single insurer's products. "Specialty" means we focus on risks that standard markets often decline — businesses with hazardous operations, difficult claims history, or coverage needs that require careful placement.

The three niches we work in

• Bars & restaurants — liquor liability, assault & battery coverage, and accounts that have been non-renewed or have post-claim placement needs.
• Tree care & hazardous contractors — tree services and other high-hazard contracting operations.
• Human services — group homes, behavioral health programs, and daycares, including abuse & molestation coverage.

How we work with wholesale markets

Hard-to-place risks are often written through wholesale intermediaries and surplus lines markets that retail buyers cannot access directly. Our job is to prepare a complete, accurate submission, approach the markets suited to the risk, and explain the resulting options — including any differences in coverage terms — so the buyer can decide.

We publish information about insurance programs and industry developments when they matter to our clients. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any association or program we write about, including the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) and ArborMAX.
